Handling Gripes, Complaints, Grievances, and Other Contract Administration Issues


Supervisors play a pivotal role in effective contract administration. In this program, participants will review the essential parts of a collective bargaining agreement, and learn how to:

  • Handle employee gripes and complaints before they become grievances
  • Read, analyze and interpret contract language
  • Apply and protect "management rights"
  • Handle both contractual and disciplinary grievances
  • Conduct grievance meetings and track grievances
  • Prepare for arbitration
