Administering Disciplinary Action


This training can be adapted for both the union and the non-union settings. In either program, participants will examine how to:

  • Apply the "employment-at-will" doctrine
  • Analyze whether or not "just cause" exists, or is required
  • Discipline employees and avoid liability
  • Investigate and document employee misconduct
  • Identify the rights of employees during an investigatory interview
  • Modify employee behavior
  • Determine if a pre-disciplinary conference is necessary
  • Handle common employee offenses, such as absenteeism and tardiness, insubordination, and poor work performance
