This training can be adapted for both the union and the non-union settings. In either program, participants will examine how to:
- Apply the "employment-at-will" doctrine
- Analyze whether or not "just cause" exists, or is required
- Discipline employees and avoid liability
- Investigate and document employee misconduct
- Identify the rights of employees during an investigatory interview
- Modify employee behavior
- Determine if a pre-disciplinary conference is necessary
- Handle common employee offenses, such as absenteeism and tardiness, insubordination, and poor work performance
